Somerset Junction

Somerset Jct. is the location of the Canadian Interchange. Normally this is the location where cars would be exchanged with the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Due to the problem with the Canadian mainline to the West, many Canadian trains that would be on their own mainline through Northern Maine must share trackage rights with the BRWM by traveling from Somerset Jct. to Bangor to by pass the problem track.

Distant view of the Canadian Interchange.

Rare view of the Interchange track when empty.

Engines awaiting the clearance to continue their journey.

Cars that will soon be on their way.
